My railroad is located in central to southwest Colorado. It consists of both standard and narrow gauge. From the dual gauge yard at Salida the standard gauge Denver and Rio Grande runs through a model of the Royal Gorge including the famous Hanging Bridge. Because the canyon was so narrow one side of the bridge had to be suspended over the water from I-beams braced on each side of the canyon. The standard gauge continues on to an open staging that represents both Grand Junction and Pueblo Colorado.
The Denver and Rio Grande narrow gauge tracks leave Salida and climb up over Marshal Pass and then down to the junction town of Coreyville. Here the Grande interchangers with the Canyon and Rocky Mountain. The Rio Grande Track drops down from Coreyville to the hidden staging that represents Montrose and Antonito Colorado. The narrow gauge C & RM climbs up to the highest point at Cima Summit. The track then drops down to the town of Westpark where the C & RM interchanges with the Griffith Lumber and Mining RR. Upon leaving Westpark the C & RM again climbs to the mining towns of Richville and Rockwood. Trackage then drops down to the town of Silverton.
In Silverton the C & RM interchanges with two of Otto Mears short lines. The Silverton Gladstone and Northerly and the Silverton Railroad both bring in cars to be exchanged with the C & RM. The Silverton Railroad has extensive trackage serving the mines around Red Mountain, Colorado. Gladstone is represented by staging and a reverse loop so trains are short and do not have a long run. The Canyon and Rocky Mountain operates using Time Table and Train orders.
